Weather in Tuscany
There's so much to say about the weather in Tuscany... because the region of
Tuscany includes lots of different terrains and landscapes.
I'm hard pressed to think of a Tuscany season I don't like. Generally, Tuscany
weather is mild across the board.
But to help you decide when you might want to be in this beautiful region, we
can make a few general observations about the weather in Tuscany:
The Weather in Tuscany and Florence
Spring in Tuscany: Temperatures are comfortable--not too cold and not too
hot. The countryside's colors really stand out. Spring can be an ideal time to
visit Tuscany, just be ready for rain. But no worries, you'll find plenty to
keep yourself busy with regardless of Spring weather in Tuscany.
Summer in Tuscany: Generally hot and sunny. Actually the busiest time for
tourism in Tuscany. Not a problem if you're at your villa, relaxing outside
taking in the lovely air and a spectacular sunset. Great if your villa has a
pool. Lunch outside under a veranda and dinners "al fresco" are memorable. If
you like wine, a chilled glass of white or red "vino da tavola" (table wine) can
be quite refreshing. Evening walks are lovely.
Autumn in Tuscany: Some consider this their favorite time of the year to
visit Tuscany. If you're in Tuscany in the Fall, you might enjoy taking part of
the wine harvest. Tuscany weather wise, you can probably safely push your stay
up until early November and avoid the cold.
Winter in Tuscany: No severe Winters here. There have been some
record cold winters, which happened throughout Europe, but that is the exception
rather the rule. Although it can get cold, you can still expect sunny days,
crisp blue skies.
As much as we'd love to include a live weather map of Tuscany here, we've not
found any yet that are easy to plug into a Web page. So for now, here are a few
